He says that if I keep my current car and if Barnsley get to Wembley again then I might get charged £12.50 for the priviledge.
Nice of him to forewarn me.
I'll have to spend 50 grand on electric car to avoid this .... no probs Mr Mayor !

Or you could go on the bus or the train, save yourself the charge and contribute to a reduction in pollution.

How dose charging people to take their car in save pollution ? I might not be the brightest spark in the box but i don't know what difference paying to go in makes to not paying.

It deters them from going in surely and encourages them to use public transport instead.

It's a deterrent I guess. Or encouragement to park outside London and use public transport, depending on if your glass is half full or half empty!

Book your train tickets now and cross your fingers hard that they 're not on strike!
You might go on public transport instead.

Or you could spend about 2 grand on a car that's less than 15 years old.

Get used to the idea, every town centre in the country will soon have similar schemes...(quite rightly)

My car is only 9 years old, is worth a lot more than two grand, and falls foul of the new regulations.

You sure about that. Put my reg in. 2014. It's not exempt. Diesel mind.
    Edit
    And here's what I found.

Petrol cars that meet the ULEZ standards are generally those first registered with the DVLA after 2005, although cars that meet the standards have been available since 2001. Diesel cars that meet the standards are generally those first registered with the DVLA after September 2015.

Diesel?. I think they have to be euro6 which is around 2016 on. Any petrol from about 2008 passes I think.

Yep, it's Euro 5. Thinking about getting it converted. Quite expensive but could definitely avoid a lot of problems in the future, especially when driving through France and Belgium.

Meanwhile the next generation pays the real price of climate change. A bit more than £12.50.

I get your pain, as I have to now turn away work in some city centres, as access is impossible, still we need to try & keep the planet populated by humans, as **** as most of us are.

Yes. In London it's really improved air quality though and that has to be a good thing for asthma sufferers.

Because you don't pay it so stay at home so business owners suffer from less footfall.

Apparently so, although I must admit I've not really looked too deeply into it
