I'm pretty sure if he's going to Walsall then it's us who've pulled the plug on the deal. Doesn't make sense otherwise, especially with Huddersfield and Preston supposedly interested recently.
Yeah my thoughts exactly a few days back mate, when this was dragging on too long. Something wasn't right, failled medical or something like. And then Collins saying no comment, doesnt want to jeopadise the lad getting a club elsewhere.. Or i could be miles off, cos both Dallas and Watters deals have also gone very quiert..
Whilst that is true. It’s the recruitment team have found something different. When in reality I don’t think we give that appearance when we seem to be shopping even lower down the pyramid than last season and yet then don’t even seem to be able to get those targets over the line. Yet in the meantime the squad is much less experienced already.
Maybe he's got an over ambitious agent, who's seen bright lights over all this attention and his wage demands are a bit silly, could be all manner of things.
To be honest, if he signs for Walsall that would probably be the right level for the next phase of his career imho. I've seen quite a bit of Halifax - it's my usual destination of choice when we haven't a game - and whilst he's a big lad and reasonably mobile I've always been concerned about his marking and positional play. It was no real surprise to me that Halifax went on a long unbeaten run including beating Wrexham when he was out injured. (I realise I will likely attract a 'clapper' backlash for saying that if he actually does sign for us but that is my honest opinion having seen him a number of times with my own eyes!)
Not crying over a non league defender we’d never heard of a week before. Sounds like plenty happening. I’m confident of a good season ahead.
I know it’s a bit long winded but I’ve spent the afternoon putting down in writing/text my feelings on this season transfer activities…… Be Reyt
I’ll take your word for it, but hope it was more to do with him & his agent being daft than Khaleds incompetence
How is it that so many of our fans assume the player decided not to pursue the deal rather than the club?
Pulling no punches there! Might be time to step away from the keyboard and take a few hours off the BBS if I'm honest. That kind of rant suggests you're taking things way too seriously.
Yep an experienced defender would be perfect for us and doesn't need to cost a fortune, might not have resale value but making an instant impact and helping younger players around him to improve will add the value.
