I've been away. What's the latest on this? (It seems fairly obvious what the majority want to happen, but has it happened?)
I was going to ask the same question. Did the club get the money but not put the sponsorship in place (in which case they owe us a sponsorship). Or have we still got the money?
Loko still has the money according to Gally. Mistakes happen but it’s now been a year that Loko has had the BBS’s £600 in his bank account and has apparently been aware of the mistake for at least a few months. I think we’re well overdue some communication around what is happening.
Makes the club's communication regarding season tickets, managerial issues and player recruitment look top notch
Obvs the price of sponsoring the first team has increased, however how about us sponsoring one of the Barnsley FC Womens teams players this season with the money already collected. Would that cover it?
Cheers Andy, she's vice captain this year too. Big season coming up for the ladies. Transition into the club, all eyes on them.
Dunno if it's even possible for the women to have their tarn kits sponsored. I assume we'd treat them no different to the men. It's great to see them getting more publicity on the official site.
Great idea, if not possible what about if we all put in another £10/£15 would that and last years cover a player this year?
Just caught up on this thanks to @JamDrop linking in the other thread. What a mess. Happy for money to go to either Beth or a female sponsorship(s) but what a piss take that Loko has had £600 sat in his account all year.
And what an even bigger piss take that despite knowing this for months he's absolutely silent on the issue
Feels a bit 'Woah.Woah.Woah Sweet Child O'Mine' this one. Had to log back on and clarify a few things here on this one - increasingly difficult as I don't even read the BBS anymore. Nothing suspicious or untoward here. Chain of events are below. - Sponsorship agreed and the hours of chasing, cross-referencing, and everything else that went in to it - Aiden Marsh then went on loan - Lee from that department left after we asked for an invoice and the best method to pay multiple times in the run up to Christmas - Myself and Gally then realised (in March) we weren't mentioned on the website and didn't seem to be getting any sponsorship comms (BFCST were for their sponsorship but not this one) - We agreed at that time (but in hindsight one of us should have posted on here) that we'd wait for the Playoffs to be done and agree the same deal for 2023/24 as it was like the sponsorship hadn't happened - New packages came out which are obviously much higher in cost with a load more benefits. I suggested we just donate the money to charity (later became Beth's fund) and anybody who would like their £10 back can message Gally privately so they're under no obligation to commit to that - We've fallen down on that last point due to it being the 'off season' and I've hardly spoken to anyone for the last six weeks with being away and work The majority of payments were from PayPal, or got moved to PayPal, so I haven't been hoarding money or using it in some hedge fund money making exercise, and I'd rather not get embroiled in any slanging match for something that is just down to busy lives, me leaving the BBS, and comms not being as they could have been from either of us. I think everyone had forgotten about it during the season to be fair as the thread never resurfaced. Spoken to Gally now and we'll donate to Beth's Go Fund Me what is left after refunds from the £600 this time next week. In the meantime, anyone wanting their money back can DM Gally, who can forward it on to me (as I'm not on here to check). Then you can make a new plan for the women's team and it's a clean slate. Already scheduled in my work diary to post confirmation of the donation at 5pm next Wednesday. Apologies for any panic or inconvenience caused.
I'd have liked the money to go to sponsorship of something at the club but don't object to it going to Beth Sefton. Would anyone be up for sponsoring something this season? Especially on the women's team.
