A proper positive PR drive. I don’t know whether they are oblivious to the thoughts of the fans out there, but after weeks of negative news, ignoring things and allowing things to fester is not the way to go. I fully realise that they can’t just whistle up new signings, but they could at least announce something like they are actively working to bring in new faces asap, they are progressing with the trouble with the shares thing. I know that none of that stuff actually helps in a practical way but just sitting quietly and to all intents and purposes ignoring fans concerns, while tying to push tickets is not a great look!
There’s nowt to talk about, that should be talked about. Poker face with transfers, keep shtum about the possible EFL sanctions. Anounce stuff as & when it’s prudent to do so. They should reinstate Stretch though, or say why he was let go. But maybe there’s more to that? I ain’t bothered. Doesn’t affect my life one jot.
It doesn’t particularly bother me either, but … I know they can’t talk specifics that would be daft , I just think they should be trying to control the negative stuff from some fans before it gets out of hand.
I think they have to wait until the verdict on the EFL charges. I fear that could be worse for the club than some on here think. I hope I'm wrong though.
In what way good? Sticking your fingers in your ears and pretending everything is fine doesn't necessarily equal.good at PR to me. But then I don't subscribe to the any publicity is good publicity mantra. We'll see, anything but promotion this season will be disappointing for the board surely?
Hey Redhelen why don't you tell us your favourite SuperRedTykes offensive linebacker instead of using up all those negative vibes? It's only been three months since we were cheated by our bitter rivals and the team we had was scattered to the four corners of the Earth.
Absolutely shocking comms from the club this pre season! Losing all interest & it’s the club at fault, no new incomings apart from 2 lower league players, a managerial change, but apart from one interview what else have we seen!? Where are the training videos? Photos? Players are leaving, we’re having to cancel friendlies, play behind closed doors. Why? The pitch looks in great condition from the pics I’ve seen of it. And of course there’s these EFL charges looming over our head. If we get a points deduction then that’s season over before it’s begun, a relegation battle it will be depending on how many points we get deducted. Brilliant! It’s only Monday granted, but I fully expected an influx of players this week, some quality to fit right into the team rather than the young gambles from Lidl.
Yes, a bit of a charm offensive wouldn't go amiss right now. Not sure what the Comms/media dept have up their collective sleeves. Actually, while we're at it, Whitey is worryingly quiet.....anyone heard 'owt from him?
Fully agree. I don't want to know who we're trying to sign, what fees we've received. Just a reassuring message. There are clearly fans who are worried. There's no harm in trying to reduce their worries. Saying absolutely nothing when clearly the pre season isn't looking good at the moment is not a positive. I'm fairly confident we'll recruit and be competitive. There's no harm in the club being a bit proactive and indicating their intentions.
If they came out with a charm offensive now a quarter of our fans would say it was over the top, too little too late, lip service, etc etc. A quarter would use it as a stick to beat the first quarter talking about how the club does communicate etc etc. And the other half have got bigger things to worry about.
Chill out H, Fcking Hell? Don’t pick on me for being quietly optimistic that things will be averagely ok. I just try to give an outside balanced view & have a laugh at it all.? It’s only football.? Wake me up at Christmas, when we’re top of the league. I’m off to talk to Danielle.
I'm not particularly bothered who we sign or who we don't sign. It's very rare that I've heard of a player we buy these days anyway so what's the point in caring? I'll judge them after I've seen them, not based on their name. What does piss me off those is the complete lack of basically caring about fans from the club. They could have put out a preemptive statement about the EFL investigation or could have worded their statement in a much more reassuring way. They knew fans were worried about season tickets but did sod all about it and when they finally did communicate a month later they did their level best to blame supporters. Either we have people running out club who do not care about supporters or we do not have anyone at our club who is capable of understanding and interacting with supporters. Both of which are extremely worrying. The best thing they could do would be to hire an actual customer relations officer who is up to the task at hand because it's been sadly lacking for the last two or three years and it's seriously costing the club both in direct terms of cash that people are unwilling to spend and in the long run it is costing even more by completing eroding all goodwill that gets built up.
But they talk to the local press. And say they are looking at new signings. As for the shares thing they've told you all what's been reported. Nothing else to report until the investigation is concluded. My beef is clarity. Always has been. Lots of confusing stuff. Eg The west stand closure was not put out in the correct way for me. Irrespective of whether the decision was right. Or you believe it or not. (The Sheff utd stewarding issue caused some backlash) Khaled said it was his decision. But needed to make clear it was the safety officer that recommended it. And he (khaled) said he couldn't have it on his conscience if something avoidable causing injury had happened. Hence repairs. The latest over the Digital ticket scenario. What confuses me most is the announcement went out yesterday. A sunday. Do we assume some were in that day to put the notice out. ? I honestly dont know what you want em to put out on the items you discuss. Cos you may not come across it. It doesn't mean it's not being put out there. They answer questions put forward by the press. They are not going to put soundbites out on social media. I see so much stuff put on here asking questions. that answers appear quite openly in the Chronicle. It's how most clubs put out information. Newsbot Just announces decisions that have been reached. Some of the fans concerns can't be answered in the timescales they are insisting on. Signings are being sought. No club worth their salt will disclose who they are. Most stuff comes from others parties inside and outside the club. Someone said on here. Luke Thomas told em Devaney would be the manager. Cheapest option according to the poster. And lots on here swallowed it. It certainly may have been said. But shows how wrong he was.
I think Helen was saying that that’s what the club is doing (sticking their fingers in their ears) not you.
So you want them to tease the possibility of something positive before it’s actually happening. A but like Khaled he’d gone some big exciting news. And ever since people have taken the p*** or called him a liar
Probably me missing it rather than the club not communicating it but did we challenge Phillips' red card?
