Has us finishing 4th, behind Derby, Bolton and Reading. I think it's being generous.... https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...ortsmouth-ahead-of-opening-day-4218931?page=6
I thought they were but I'm beginning to have doubts. My mate who supports Reading, who is usually extremely measured in his assessments, will be very happy with mid-table.
If we had started with something like the team we had last year I’d have been confident of top 6. Given we have lost a significant portion of that squad unless something changes i would say bottom half though nowhere near relegation.
Im thinking next season will ebb and flow more than last.. more of a always shifting top 8-10 than two or three runaways. i'd gues, not in any perticular order.. Derby Bolton Pompey Charlton Wycombe Peterboro Oxford and hopefully ourselves. Plus say Orient, always one team carrys the momemtum after promotion..Out of the 3 coming down there's only Blackpool for me who may have half a chance if lightening can strike twice with Critchley of doing owt
Transfer embargo lifted the a few days ago after paying The tax bill. They weren't allowed to sign anyone on more than £1400 pw I think I saw somewhere. (May have been another club.) Whether that still applies not sure.
If they have paid their bill, that usually means they will go out and splash the cash again on players wages and fees they can't afford....2 years down line rice repeat...proper annoys.
