You'd like to think all these things are true. Who knows, in a couple of weeks the outcome may all make better sense and there could be a silver lining that we just don't know about yet. But FFS, we seriously need some good news right now.
I'd have thought "scupper our recruitment" is being over-dramatic. I think the expectation is that if the charges are found, the sanctions are more likely to be levelled at the former board members than the club itself.
I dont think anyone on here is going to be in a position to answer that I'm sure there was plenty done but if you really want to hide stuff it's probably not all that difficult when you are dealing with entities from outside of the UK.
How about this... Initially we were all excited about the new ownership when Patrick sold the club. That excitement soon began to be tempered with realism as the new owners employed a scattergun approach to managers and recruitment. I'm thinking Morais, Schopp and Asbaghi plus the master stroke of getting promoted then selling four fifths of the defence and replacing them with kids. That realism then began to turn to mistrust as Conway and Lee toured Europe buying up and damaging clubs by the handful. The mistrust became outright disgust as Conway took over the role of CEO himself after getting rid of Murphy, engineered a catastrophic transfer window and inept managers. It's obvious Conway is a charlatan and has been obvious for over 18 months. If this leads to his and Lee's exit from the club...great. Re the current Board I remain hopeful their heart is in the right place and their actions seem to back it up. You don't shell out money on a project everyone can see is not going to yield any substantial profit in the medium to long term if ever. For those having a go at JAQ I'd be critical if she'd done nothing and just sat in America showing no interest and leaving everything on the back burner. On the contrary she's been back and forth from the US on a regular basis and thrown herself into trying to drive the club forward. I'd fully expect Collins and Stead to have been informed of what was coming. I'd also fully expect that a decent CEO would have a damn good idea of what the implications are and the likely response/punsihment from the EFL will be. There sure are some bumps in the road since the play off final but I'm afraid that is where we are as a club now. Outgunned financially by clubs who are either playthings or who are financially cheating on a huge scale while we are unable to spend the money to smooth out those bumps. There's absolutely no suggestion we've adjusted our recruitment policy. We're looking in the same places for players that we've been doing for years. i.e players of promise from lower leagues. It's where we've always had to shop. I'd sincerely hope we're looking at a suspended points deduction at worst along with a fine. I think we're all sitting with our fingers crossed though.
Am I missing something? We brought it up ( maybe as a way of clearing the apparently dodgy set out) Doesn’t sound like we have been trying to fiddle financial fair play and on the bit we have been told, it sounds like individuals have been trying to dupe the club? Course I might have totally misunderstood it
"failing to provide the League with correct and/or complete information regarding the beneficial ownership of shares in the Club despite a request for such information being made by the League;"
That doesn’t automatically mean we withheld anything, it could be that the form was filled out wrong. Equally it could and probably does mean that the original info was fudged not since the investigation. The post I replied to suggested the club was now lying.
Think you are missing something It would seem to relate to who actually owned Conway and Lee's shares. We know JAQ and 2 others owned some of PMGs shares. This should have been disclosed to the EFL. The charges suggest it wasnt. Nothing to do with financial fair play though
I think the point here is that its saying they didn't disclose these other shareholders. Its not that they prevented anyone from publishing. They allege they didn't a) tell the EFL b) tell us that they existed. (As well as not telling the rest of the share holders)
