Wonder if anyone on here can help.

I've been collecting Avios points for a while now, mainly on an Amex card, but it's limited as not everyone takes Amex.

Does anyone on here have the below Barcelycard version (Mastercard) and can you tell me the disadvantages to this? Surely, this is better, and I could just get rid o the Amex altogether?

https://www.barclays.co.uk/credit-cards/avios-cards/ (The free one, I'm not made of money).

    Thanks

I use a card that generates Virgin Atlantic points, rather than Avios, and have had good value from it.

This site is great for assessing the various offers available. Their mailing list sends a couple of emails per day on the subject, which is a bit too frequent for my liking, but the information on the relevant ones is always valuable.

No disadvantage in terms of Avios and you'll get a decent amount on acceptance. It's whether you are going for the 2-4-1 vouchers or not - the Barclaycard is an "upgrade" voucher instead.
