How awful they look..Blackpool last away game could be a brilliant atmosphere and piss up weekend at the seaside, but that's about it.
6 of first 10 at home. Need to get off to a flyer. No idea which games will be subject to international call ups though. Expect Connell, Russell, Jalo to be called up. And the new Polish CB.
Home first and last game I’ll take that, some tough games in the first month but most at home, can’t wait now
It will sound Wednesday to some with the small time mentality, but if we aren't automatically promoted the season will be a huge failure. We really should be aiming for 100 points next season.
With Duff at the helm, and not too many player departures, that would have been quite believable. Him leaving, with the knock-on effect on player ins/outs will set us back a good number of those points.
Thirteen home games in the first half of the season though with a lot of away games from the end of December through to March. However you weigh it up you play the same teams twice home and away but I’m not sure it’s an advantage to have a lot of home games early in the season for a club that has a high turnover of players. And managers. Those early home games might not be won if we have a lot of players to settle and a new coaching team to adapt to.
Our managers off so is our best center half. Derby have made some good signings taking Rotherhams keeper and a lad from posh both rejecting new deals to join Derby. Pompey also making good additions. Won't be as strong league as last season but still tough competition.
This time last year I was quite looking forward to these “new” fixtures and new grounds with the prospect of plenty of wins and a good managerial appointment. Looking at that list now it’s just…meh! Port Vale first match - be still my beating heart!
Gutted Shrewsbury and Cambridge are on Tuesday nights, two great places for a day session on a weekend. Other than that, pretty decent.
Looks so much weaker than last year for some reason. That spell last year where we had all bunched together games with I think Plymouth, Posh, Wednesday, Ipswich, Wycombe.. All seem spaced out this year in terms of who you think on paper will be challenging for promo. Hopefully Blackpool away is a massive party.
Oxford could be a decent test as well, bought a good sticker recently and are usually up their at the end of the season
