When Churchill first went to Parliament as PM, he got a hostile reception compared to Chamberlain - who got a warm welcome - but by then was already terminally ill (although he probably didn't know it). Lord Halifax was the favourite of the Tory party to replace Chamberlain and lead us in the war while Churchill was was carrying the failure of the Norway campaign. Just a few weeks after taking charge, Churchill needed the support of Chamberlain and Attlee to continue the war while Halifax wanted peace after Dunkirk.

History could have been very different without Churchill, but he was a flawed individual.

Would it be the person that hasn't sought the approval of ACOBA before announcing it? The body that all ex-Ministers must obtain approval from before starting a new job (within 2 years of leaving office).

Blimey, I didn’t think it was ever possible to add another reason to avoid reading the Daily Heil, but somehow they have managed it.

Talking of Nads - what's happened to her resignation - she hasn't put the paperwork in and it's all gone quiet.

MP's privileges worth more than Johnson can get her.

Looks like she's waiting to see if Johnson or Sunak screwed her over.

    Either way she's been screwed.

Will be interesting to see how the motion goes in Commons, and whether anyone actively opposes it, to take it to a formal vote. I reckon that could play out even worse for the Tories, as everyone will be able to see who has voted what.

She was going to resign to let Johnson take her seat but now she knows that isn’t going to happen she’s going to keep it herself.

Thats not what I said. My point being its depressing he can't be held accountable for some of the much worse stuff he actually did.

Prime minister us just chief liar in my book. As I just said I'm not saying they are all the same level I just wish Johnson could be held accountantable for the much worse stuff he did.

It will be interesting to see how many MPs abstain or vote against the motion on Monday, even though it is completely irrelevant. Any MP that abstains or votes against it is complicit in supporting a proven liar, and that alone should ensure that they get kicked out at the next election.

Johnson has ‘told his supporters not to vote against the decision, to calm down the anger’.

What a load of ********. He basically doesn’t want to get embarrassed when his ‘supporters’ turns out to be a dozen or so sycophants. This way he can pretend there would have been a couple of hundred.

He’s done this before when he ‘pulled out’ (judging by the amount of kids he has it would have been the first time he pulled out of anything!) of the leadership race, when in reality he just didn’t have enough MPs to even make the shortlist. Johnson supporters now are a very small, but very noisy, minority.

I'm not a happy bunny this morning, my MP (Heather Wheeler) was one of 7 who voted against the verdict of the committee :mad::mad::mad:

Hopefully you will have the pleasure of voting her out when the GE finally gets called

My MP Mr Jeremy Hunt abstained which is exactly what I thought he would do - as much backbone as Sunak
