Isn't a top priority I would say...... I'd imagine we have already offered a contract and it's up to him whether he signs or not.
If he was signing for us I think it would've been sorted by now. Either Collins stays or we find another keeper, there are plenty around who'd be affordable I'm sure. Priority for me is a striker or two.
If it is indeed Hull who are after him, I can see him fancying his chances at getting the gloves there. They have 1 senior keeper who played half the season last season, and had 2 loanee keepers who played the remaining games, so I'd say his spot isn't guaranteed. They're certainly in the market for a reliable number 1 to challenge Matt Ingram. I guess it'd be a similar situation for him here, but a league below.
Agree, we offer what he’s worth and if he turns us down it’s not the end of the world, in Collins we have a top keeper, it would be mad to throw additional money at Isted, money that could be spent strengthening weaker areas in the team
He's been an asset while with us and itd be nice to keep him but as others have said if the club have to watch finances and balance incomings/ outgoings the priorities are elsewhere I think.
Harry's now on holiday in Mykonos. So either, an announcement is imminent and he's done all the media stuff before he's gone, or he's left both offers on the table.
If we are serious about signing Isted then I'd expect Collins will be already lined up for a move away.
If Collins wasn’t here we’d have more to offer Isted for sure, he’d be more likely to choose us knowing he was guaranteed number 1 It’s a messy situation and not straightforward at all, if someone was bidding for Collins and we accepted and then Isted choose someone else over us it’d be a disaster On the other hand we are competing with another club for Isted, and due to Collins being on the books it doesn’t make sense to throw everything at Isted, we shouldn’t be paying for two top keepers when other positions need investment, I’m sure we’ve offered Isted a fair deal but if we had no number one then I’d bet we’d offer a bit more knowing someone else was trying to sign him To make it more complicate these guys are close mates from what I’ve read, we can’t make any false promises to either of them, they’ll both know what the others doing In an ideal world we sign Isted while Collins is still ours, we then sell Collins before the season starts to free up wages and sign/promote a new number 2, but when or if someone bids for Collins is out of our hands
