Not sure what state the Preedy flag is in but what about having it in the Ponty and being passed around from front to back.

I know we have the smaller flags being waved in the stands and pitchside, but think that would look cool being passed about before kick off.

Saw this Feyenoord effort from the weekend. Unreal flag

And the effort and coordination to get it in

I messaged that Ponte roaring twitter account earlier asking if anyone has something similar that we could do. I remember us rolling a huge flag down the ponty end once before, may have been play off game v Huddersfield in 06.

We lost that game 0-1 so I wouldn't want a repeat of that.

Our flag is in a god awful state, not pointing any fingers but the few matches I've been unavailable I have come back to a bit of a mess, also I bought 24 new bungee cords There's a bout 6 left.o_O

We crowd-surfed it from the Ponty to the north end of the East stand the night it made it's debut (Vs Nottingham Forest, lost 5-2). I remember getting grief from some people where we wanted to leave it.

Would have looked fantastic, can’t risk the flag if it’s fragile though, everyone would be pulling it, not the greatest omen if it tears in half just before kick off!

Anyone else happen to have a ginormous flag lying around?

I also seem to recall having a large flag passed over the Ponty on a regular basis but it maybe was just the once

You would think the club has something like this lying around with our crest on.

What happened to the ones from our various trips to wednesday and Cardiff? I'm sure that whenever we've been there's been a giant flag on the pitch and it's been different design so there's more than one knocking about

What do you think they used to fill in the holes in the West Stand before they could open it up again?

Based on Khaleds disappointment at the so few flags on display. Since they proposed getting them in the ground. (I mentioned the difficulty and timings of getting em put up. And taken away not before 1/2 hr after games) I've offered to take the few we have. So hopefully we can bring em earlier (Day b4 if neccessary) and pick up next day If need be.. The biggest stumbling block is pulling someone off their role at the ground to assist or put up themselves for security reasons. (Maybe a time slot convenient to most if not all could have produced a better display) Let's see if owt comes of it. We too use bunjees. And i would want to make sure everything is returned.

More than once mate if I remember rightly. And at Wembley. Got passed from side to side up top then bottom the reverse way. Haven't a clue who it belonged to.

Sounds like a new volunteer role at the club could solve those issues, needs someone to vet regular flag owners coming in, help set them up/put them away and keep a record of who owns which flag, the equipment they come with, contact details etc

A volunteer doing the job ensures the club arnt committing already busy ground staff or having to pay for more staff.

I imagine the role could incorporate other duties to make it more worth while having, maybe responsible for the flags held just before kick in the ponty as well

if the volunteer was vetted by the club and had security clearance it would make it a lot easier for people like Hooky getting in and out (escorted by volunteer) and having peace of mind someone at the club is keeping a record of who leaves/takes what.

Great point oakweller. A dedicated person. At a given time. (Easy, if like me retired. Or if im unavailable. Pass on to one of the other flag carriers. Or designated person. In charge)
only thing I'd be careful of. Is the amount of space available given the size of the Preedy/Cryne flag. In such a crucial game. Everyone would want to put theirs up. (Although a fire certificate may be a stumbling block for some) I'd certainly volunteer when available. And am sure some like Frankie. ( Flag carrier extraodinair) would when convenient.
