    I used to stand in the West Stand terrace with my dad. Loved be able to mooch at half time. Only knocked it on the head when my dad stopped going.

    That’s not my recollection. I remember that area in front of the Stand was called The Terrace. The opposite side was The Paddock. This was around the 1960s when I started (1962).

    Yes, I always stood in the Paddock/Brewery Stand, now East Stand. In fact we rarely called it Brewery stand, almost always the Paddock

    It said Paddock on the turnstiles and Terrace for the West lower) I think it only got called the Brewery stand because it was nearest the brewery and had Barnsley Bitter painted on the roof I always stood in the paddock from when I was old enough to see over the wall at the front until they knocked it down.

    Yes, I remember a game against Rotherham in about 1971, a lot of my school mates were Rotherham fans (I went to Wath GS) and we met up in the Brewery Stand at half time and stood there chatting for 10 minutes or so before they carried on to the Ponty and we went to the North terrace. It was normal, no fences, nothing. It was early late 70s/early 80s when the fences went up.

    Stood on the terrace for many years afore they built the east stand. Used to wait near ponty end then see which end we were playing to. Then rush round if it was the Kop. But in latter years stuck to the ponty side near the tunnel at the back. ( for if it rained. Best comments "Hold yer grarnd lads" in amusement to stop those trying to steal our place to get under cover :)) as a teen used to go in ponty and swap with kop depending on which way attacking. Or brewery/paddock (one and the same) stand if raining, kicking towards the kop end.

    It does actually say our PADDOCK Aka in later years Brewery stand. With John Smith's Brewery behind (Beevor court) being the reason. .

    If I'm not mistaken and could well be. had Barnsley bitter written on the roof afore John Smith's. (I may have got that wrong but seems to be in my noodle) Before it was converted to seating.

    Derelict now. But youth team football was played on it till at least 2018.

    You’re right almost…. I’ve seen an old picture with “ John Smiths Bitter” on the roof and I’ve got a framed photo of the stadium in 1952 and on the roof it says “ BARNSLEY BREWERY Oakwell Ales “
    The John Smiths Bitter sign was in 70’s I think

    Season tickets still showed the Paddock and Terrace areas in the early 80’s and maybe longer.
    I agree about their specific locations

    Think it was barnsley boys. He was born in 1932 so it was probably just after the war.
    There's a stamp on the back says barnsley Chronicle but no date. If I could attach a photo I would.
