Another club in a mess. The following is from the Daily Mail... West Bromwich are committed to shelling out more than £700,000 per year in interest payments alone to service a £20 million loan from MSD Capital. The club took out the loan to provide cash flow in December after the owner Guochuan Lai failed to repay £5 million he borrowed from the club for one of his Chinese companies. West Brom have effectively written off that loan, and to compound matters Lai failed to make agreed interest payments as well as the capital repayment. West Brom will be unable to meet their existing wage obligations next season if they remain in the Championship so are planning a fire sale of players this summer.
You might chuckle... But they took Ismail, and all our backroom staff, DK and mowatt... All on money they don't bloody have. It's about time a club like this just went to the wall.
If we go up maybees, but I doubt it. If we don't I'm hoping Jalo is getting ready for some starts next season.
I read somewhere they're paying Huddersfield £2.5m a year for Karlan Grant for 6 years. That's an incredible chunk of money to be paying on just one player for such a long period of time.
Nothing against them but this post is bang on. This should be an example of how the EFL should be looking at clubs like them and looking at the future of the deal structure BEFORE it goes through. continually allowing overspending on overspending is only going to end one way..
It really is now the time to level up ,football clubs paying wages to players they can't afford. Looking to the Premier league for the golden pay out. Luton as managed quite well to get up there. I'm surprised Preston are not in the press yet for overspending ,their losses are collosul ,teams like Rotherham can't compete with teams around them overspending. Fair play to them stopping up. Good riddance to the likes of Wigan and Reading.
We have all been saying that as fans for as long as I can remember, predicting the a.r.s.e. is gonna drop out of the game. It never seems to happen. I am at a loss as to why not.
