Anybody know if Shaw, Cotter, Martin or Odour are worth a place on the bench? There could be more games like last night where we’ll need someone to come off the bench and score. Ipswich and Plymouth both got late winners.
Maybe we need three strikers and Luke Thomas for the last 15 minutes with a back three or four. I can see last four games and play-offs being tight games.
I always watch tedic and he's not bad at times but sometimes he is awful. Didn't city pay 3 million for him? I know it's peanuts to them but footballs ****** if tedic is a 3million pound player.
Have you not seen coles goals the last 5 games he our main poacher. Watters needs to get more involved at times. I did feel sorry for Cole and Norwood last night alot of hoofball and not much nice play final 3rd. Missed caddens delivery to the box.
Happy with Cole’s contribution. Duff knows Cole and Norwood won’t last 80 minutes, but we need something to get a goal in a tough game. Maybe a change of shape if we don’t have players who can beat a man.
We haven’t seen much of Shaw or Cotter but i’d trust Michael Duff’s judgement on them. As for Martin and Oduor - I’d say we’ve seen plenty to suggest they offer nothing more than the ones on the bench now. In fact in Josh Martin’s case I’ve no idea what he offers full stop.
Martin just not used cos we can only have 5 loan players in a matchday squad. Guessing we can’t terminate the loan cos I think it would have happened in Jan. Isted Watters B Thomas Larkeche Tedic So he’s only ever going to be included if none of them are avail I reckon.
The problem with bringing Tedic on as a sub is that we've a tendency to hit long balls to him, which never really works. Watters isn't mobile enough and hardly seems to get involved (his goal v Wednesday apart). I'd be tempted to to start Tedic alongside Cole on Saturday and then bring Norwood on for the last half hour against tiring defenders.
I think we'll beat Oxford comfortably regardless of who starts up front. We could always hit them with the bench late on if needed.
Norwood didn't look happy at coming off last night. I think he only started tedic v fgr as they concede for fun from set plays and are just generally not very good.
I was surprised Tedic didn’t keep his place at Lincoln, after getting the early goal in the previous game and our recent struggles away from home.
Watters is a box striker, and has no experience as a target man, back to goal or in the air. Playing like we did against Lincoln is no use to him whatsoever. It's unfair to judge the lad really, if we're unable to create the opportunities that play to his strengths.
To be fair. Bar one season and a loan move he’s never really pulled up any trees wherever he’s played. Just looks like he got into the groove at Crawley and had a half decent productive spell at MK Dons but not anywhere else.
