Been a different player, ever since he escaped The Phantom Zone with General Zod.

Hecky saw a player in him picked him over ethan pinnock took him to hibs. Decent defender at league one level.

Picking him over Pinnock is evidence that Hecky might have been smoking crack rather than evidence that Jackson is good

Was the best of a really poor Lincoln team.

Pinnock was injured. Took a while to get over it and adjust to a different level of football. Daft to say otherwise. Hecky is showing again he is a better football manager than some bloke from the internet.

Always been a good solid pro. Did ok for us in the championship & was very dependable in league one when called upon. Not suited to bringing the ball out from the back like many modern centre backs & lacks a bit of a pace but does the basics really well. Deserved to win man of the match in my opinion.

I wish I could go along with that.
But remember we've lost twice at home to them this season, and we've looked poor away to them as well in this awful goal-less draw tonight.

Pinnock got injured just after the Sunderland away game new year when he broke his toe in training before that he was 4th choice.

I thought some of the Lincoln lads looked quite decent players . I've seen worse teams than that tbh.

I think you're misremembering mate. He was an unused sub for months and only broke into the team when Jackson got injured (at Wolves if I remember right).

Even the official club website says he had to be patient before breaking into the team.

I didn't think they were poor at all to be honest. A bit toothless in attack, but they were missing their 2 main attacking threats.

To be fair to Heckingbottom, Jackson was a solid dependable out and out defender, Pinnock was a footballing centre back with playing and passing ability who many would have deemed a big risk in that championship season.

Hecky erred on the side of the negative option mainly because he was given a squad lacking attacking quality and centre forwards - he moaned himself about signing all the midfield/number ten options - so we needed 0-0s and the odd scraped 1-0 to have a chance that year, until Moore and McBurnie came in. Had he not been tempted over to Leeds I think he’d have kept that team up; as it was they brought in the first of several absolutely mind boggling managerial selections and we were relegated - had we stayed up we’d then maybe have never seen the best of Pinnock and he might not have gone on to be a premier league player.

As for Heckingbottom, I’d not take him over duff but I think he gets an unfair ride. He was hardly the worst Leeds manager they’ve had in recent years, and hibs didn’t really give him much of a sniff - besides which if you aren’t one of the main Glasgow two then you’re playing for third at best every year anyway. Can’t be the easiest to motivate.

He’s doing a bloody good job at Sheff Utd in my eyes - decent squad but not exactly eye wateringly good, the turmoil and uncertainty off the pitch, couldn’t sign a player at all in January and only paid a fee for one signing last summer as well - and they would probably treble their money on him if they sold him too. As I say I wouldn’t swap Duff for him but he ranks higher than anyone else who’s been here since he left, Stendel included.

The problem was pinnock could defend aswell heckys 1st choice center half's were Angus and Liam lindsay. When pinnock was called upon due to Angus falling out with hecky and injurys to other defenders he scored at home v Reading in a 1-1 draw was motm v Preston at home in a draw and scored away at Sunderland.

He had leeds finish 12th in the league and won 3 league games with them one been against us.
He turned hibs one of the biggest clubs outside Glasgow into relegation fodder.

I do think he's doing well with united though he has a very good squad and the 2 loanees from man city are real talents.
