last July you said we have no hope of making the top half. We’ve just secured play offs with 4 games to spare and you’re still managing to come out with this negative s***. Maybe this is less about the team and more about you and your outlook on life and general attitude.
It’s really tough to play when teams sit 8/9 men behind the ball. They were really well organised and reset quickly into their positions. You have to give them a fair bit of credit, they defended excellently.
massive overreaction for me. we've had a brilliant season. we're not quite top 2 material, granted, but who genuinely thought we would be, before a ball was kicked this season?
We're all disappointed and entitled to our opinions but it's the way SOME can't wait to criticise the team with venom.
The result although kind of disappointing isn’t what’s worried me tonight it’s the really poor inability to even do the basics that shocked me .
Looks like you've not taken tonight's point too well SD Enjoy the ride mate we've improved massively from the beginning of the season, anything can still happen and we've got some big games to look forward to, what's not to like ?
I think Duff will be disappointed. I also think if Duff was a member of our cherished BBS he would be labelled a happy clapper for his enthusiasm. Duff is a realist and tells it like it is, but he also maintains a positive outlook and takes each game at a time. He has also said some fans get carried away when it's only one game, whether we win or lose. The pile on when we lose is frankly embarrassing and sad to see. And I just remembered, we didn't even lose tonight! Have a good evening all, I'm checking out for the night
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with criticising tonight’s performance, it certainly didn’t lack effort but there’s no denying that overall it was poor. I expected Lincoln, with their good home record, to come at us and give us a torrid time, I also thought we’d overcome that and beat them with some clinical finishing, neither of those happened. I hope we get the 2 points required (at the moment) to secure 4th place, then absolutely smash Ipswich ( even if it does help the Fowls) Then if possible rest as many players as possible, but they may be too much riding on the MK Dons and Posh games for us to do that.
we know we can play much better though. at our best, we can beat anyone in the league. depends which team turns up in the play offs now. the team that beat derby and plymouth at Oakwell, will probably win it. the team that turned up to our recent away games against Bristol/wycombe/exeter/Lincoln, probably won't get past the semis.
Let's not forget that since the new year we've probably been at our best against the better teams, and have generally fallen short when mid table opposition has sat back and blocked us. If nothing else that gives me hope for the playoffs, especially if Wycombe don't make it.
we tried our best but when its really mattered come up short , still a season to be proud of, just my opinion we dont go up, hope we do though prove me wrong
We could finish the season with 90+ points and some folk on here are acting as though we've just gone down. Its been a great season, get a grip of yourselves ffs. Very few predicted us to finish inside play offs let alone challenge for autos as long as we have done. So fickle
