Love this from Bruce Dyer, particularly the bit about diversity. https://www.facebook.com/1000633141...5m4YhAmQqYJo9kjy5aLyjWT6cGb3QfFz6ZEUJWZE2El/-
Any insight for us Helen for those who don't have Facebook matey? I imagine something to do with our brilliant U18s achievement
I end my night celebrating the efforts of the academy manager at BFC Bobby Hassell . Giving honor where it’s due. Bobby has done a tremendous work at the academy. Since he took the hot seat at the academy the progress has been unbelievable ( 100% facts ) Bobby is a low key out of the limelight individual but I am so pleased for him because he has been instrumental in so much and often the public eye will never see or know. The diversity and cultural changes at the academy has been fantastic. I say this because over years and I know this as facts some parents were wary to bring there kids to BFC because of lack of diversity and those barriers have been pulled down and Bobby has been key to this. One thing I know and I can say this because he is my best friend, he genuinely has a heart for BFC academy, the football club and the community. It’s not been a easy few years for him and I publicly celebrate him and he deserve all the applauds he gets for the tremendous work he has done with his coaching team and the backroom staff. Super proud of you mate . One of the good ones in this world for sure. Loyalty is very rare in this day and age especially in football . Bobby has proven his loyalty and commitment to BFC as a player and as an academy manager. God Bless Bobby, Massive respect.
I'm not going to moan that the season is still interesting at this late stage but it would have been nice to see some of the young 'uns get some game time at the end of the season. We haven't been mid-table Barnsley for ages. Well done to all the coaches involved.
A fantastic read. Love both Bobby & Bruce, a credit to our club and our town. What Bobby has gone through, as Bruce says, with his son is truly horrific for anyone, let alone such a young lad with so much life to live. Can only continue to give them our best wishes and hope the club continue to support them in every way possible Thanks Helen
We’re very lucky to have “proper” football men running things at Oakwell. Long may this continue and it would be fantastic if Michael Duff and his coaching team stuck with us for a couple more years at least
