Many of them weren’t that great outside the ground at Ipswich earlier this season. As soon as we got out of the gates they were waiting. Yes, there were those who welcomed the ‘attention’ but most of us just wanted to make our way back to our transport and had no option but to endure the barrage of abuse etc
This season's marras for me; over-inflated, 'big club' mentality with a sense of entitlement. Hope they stay in League 1.
We've seen very clear examples of how it makes no difference whatsoever though. We lodged a 'complaint' after the Pompey no-goal, and had Webb on the blower to Duff to apologise. Since then we've had the Burton decision and an incredibly harsh straight red
If we are certain of top 6 and top 6 only, you clearly don't throw the games, but you do have to prepare for the play offs. It might be that Andersen and Connell get a rest, or come off the bench for a game or two.
Wow. Imagine what they would have been protesting had they had to put up with what we have all season.
Where's Stevie Lodge these days, surely he'd be an impartial ref in a match involving his home town Burnsley. The whole idea though of clubs thinking they can complain, and basically pick and choose who refs when, is a disgrace.
Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but Ipswich have got the ref changed. Sam Barrott will now referee the Ipswich game and Bell will take on the duties at Stevenage v Wimbledon. Barrott, from West Yorkshire, has had Ipswich twice this season, both 1-1 draws (Cambridge away, Bolton home) and has awarded the opposition a penalty in both games. I sincerely hope this pattern is continued! Barrott did our wins at Fleetwood where he was awful and at Port Vale where he was a bit better.
So whoever is responsible for ref’s appointments admit they got the initial appointment wrong then meaning they actually listen to and then act to change their decisions. Wonder how many times this has happened in the past, particularly where there is no history of problems?
Not sure the overriding feeling is that they`re rattled. I think they have a big superiority complex - very Wednesday-like.
