To have a manager who gives a post match interview that fairly summarises exactly what we saw. Doesn’t shy away from the fact that we committed many individual errors; but doesn’t hang anyone out to dry at the same time. It was a poor performance front to back last night; usually reliable players (no need to further mention names) not at the races. I’d suggest we might see a freshening up of the starting eleven on Saturday. Not wholesale changes but maybe one or two different starters. I’m missing Saturday as I’m away in the lakes (pre 40th birthday celebration, I have that dubious honour next Tuesday). The boy has asked if we can come back on Saturday for the game. The look on my Mrs’ face before I even drew breath to answer meant I couldn’t even suggest we’d try…
No ********, no excuses, doesn’t hide behind anyone to save himself. We might not get promoted this season but regardless, what a gem we have. He will do for me. Get him on a longer deal. Pay him as much as the club can afford.
Love this. What I enjoyed the most, is that his comments pretty much echoed how most people assessed last night. Majority of fans fairly called it out for what it was, without going overboard. I didn’t see any lack of effort last night, just a big drop in quality, with too many players having off days. When that happens, you get spanked. It’s all about how we respond now. Personally I wouldn’t change the line up, other than perhaps Phillips. Last night was another example of what a Phillips performance can look like, if he doesn’t score. It’s not like any of the subs came on last night and made an impact though. None of them did.
For me, Bobby Thomas has looked a bit suspect of late. He's got away with it up to yesterday; perhaps it's time for a little rest?
It was Williams that was most off it last night, but again difficult to criticise really as he’s been great the majority of the season.
Whose birthday is it. ? (Yours and you should have the say) . And who suggested going when we had a game. ?
It’s my birthday next week yeah. That doesn’t arm me with any more authority than I would have normally. Which is none, as like many husbands and dads I’m largely surplus to requirements (until it is time to pay for something…) And the Mrs booked it as a surprise, but had to tell me so I could get time off work as I unexpectedly had to change job in January otherwise she’d have sorted it with my old boss.
