BOBBY THOMAS LOOKS FORWARD TO WYCOMBE MEETING Interviews The 22-year-old sat down to speak to the press at Oakwell ahead of the Reds' Sky Bet League One meeting at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday. Continue reading on the official site...
Phenomenal signing for us. At 22 he plays way behind his years. He’s been that good we really haven’t missed Tom Edwards.
Not listened to or read the interviews yet but saw Doug’s tweet, which is below. Another reason why promotion is a must as I think he’ll be worth a fair few millions in a few years.
Edit I've just realised I'd totally forgot we had Tom Edwards on loan from Stoke City. However, he was a right back wasn't he?
One thing he got wrong - he says upcoming games are similar in stature to Derby and Plymouth. He needs to understand that Tuesday is off the scale with regards to the magnitude of the game compared to the others - to me at least!
That's why we probably have such a poor record v Sheff Wed. Overhyping a games significance just adds pressure.
To be fair this is as vital as it gets in recent times. A local derby against the top of the league where we’re both on long unbeaten runs, plus we’re heading towards the business end of the season and every point counts especially with these games in hand we have. If we win on Saturday and Plymouth lose we move within 6 points of 2nd with two games in hand. If then Plymouth lose again on Monday away at Accrington we’d be 3 games in hand and 6 point difference going into the Dee dar match. Then it really is a MASSIVE game. Alternatively we lost on Saturday plus tuesday whereas Plymouth win both and we end up 15 points behind.
Realistically Wycombe a much bigger game. Win that and playoffs would be highly likely. Lose and its game on. And no chance in hell of Plymouth losing at home to FGR - that's as near to a gimme as you will get at the moment.....let's worry about Wednesday 5pm on Sat......
I think you're right there in regards to the Wycombe match, i think that manifests by me being more concerned about losing to Wycombe as i see that as far more realistic than losing to Wednesday
