Thought they would have brought more there 2nd in the league and been taking good numbers away surely they will bring around 2k.
Quite a poor following considering the league position but then I guess all things considered they are facing the same cost of living increases and probably have far more expenditure travelling compared to most teams.
Yeah around 3,300 I think. They have Oakwell South coming up. Even a local derby is a trek for them. I couldn't be arsed with paying just short of fifty quid for a quarter past six coach journey. They have good followings all things considered.
As others have already said, it’s a bloody decent following considering how far away it is and how much everything costs these days.
I’ve said this before but, just like every club, not all their fans live in their home town. I’ve known a few Argyle fans over the years and heard about supporters clubs dotted around the country and overseas. There might even be a few living in or near Barnsley! Obviously a good number of their fan base live in Devon but the reason they get big away followings is as I have said above.
Some of them live even further away, a sizable chunk in Cornwall, about a fifth of their support for a home game (around 3,000)! Can't imagine there's that many north of Devon, similar to BFC fans scattered about, London Reds etc. Few and far between.
To see every league game. Circa 11000, miles in round trips compared to our Circa 6000, miles. Not a bad following regardless of position in the league. Nearly double the amount of travelling and double the amount of time spent on the road. Doesn't bear thinking about.
