I was really surprised when someone told me there were no Salt beers on sale in there. Disappointing. Not sure how bad the food in the East Stand must be if it's considerably better in the Ponty!
Dunno, but not a fan of the view tonight. Row H, behind the goals - impossible to see what’s happening in the other half. Take me back to the East Upper.
Broadly similar - but much less choice. No Salt ale, but also no chicken strips, no chips, none of those pizza twist things (bought one out of curiosity, it was actually really nice). I actually mentioned on here a bit ago that I found it bizarre we don’t sell chips as they are an easy money spinner - nobody pointed out that in some stands (well, at least one) we do!!! East stand we essentially have pies, burgers and hot dogs food wise, and the same beer (Madri etc) as the ponty, without the salt range.
Trouble is the view's crap. Went in the North Stand today, just because I never had before. Not a bad view from row Z, but not a patch on back row of the East Upper.
No pizza twists? Nightmare! To be honest I rarely eat in the ground as the burger van at the bottom of the car park is several magnitudes better in terms of both quality and value. But if I'm running late and there's a queue there, then the pizza twist is a very decent option. Very odd how the food options in the East Stand are so much poorer. I can't imagine that the catering facilities are particularly different.
It does make you think of options if we do grow in size. Separate turnstiles, big gates down the middle of the concourse and felt very safe near to no man's land. Must be bleak for catering staff having to work behind wire meshing every week though
