Aye, speaks very well. He was right they had chances to equalise, but we also had chances we missed. Phillips with 2 comes to mind
For a long period in the first half we had scored with our only attempt on goal and they had already about 4 on target and hit the bar. When they scored you could say it had been coming with how much they had been banging on the door at that point.
Not denying that bud. With the shot they had off the bar, it's about time we had a bit of luck Their only goal came from a mix up at the back between our lads too. But Phillips had 2 attempts, what on another day he'd bury. Kane tried to turn instead of just hitting it, which they managed to clear. But we made a fair few chances we didn't take too. Just on the day we were much more clinical! Which is a good thing to say
Warne was rubbish in the Championship with Rotherham. Maybe he's scared of that league, and is now trying to stop Direby going there.
Agree, and they were in a much better position this season before he left than where they are now. When their players & managers jump ships to clubs literally in a league below them, it will always be a challenge to keep them up in that league
Didn't he take them straight back down again though, each time ?. That's why I'm suggestng he has a bad record of managing in that division.
To be fair though, look what happened to us after we sold Winnall, Hourihane etc mate. Selling their best players will always make it harder for a smaller club in the championship
Always liked Warne. Talks a lot of sense. He’s right about us taking one for the team & happy to pick bookings up to stop counter attacks. We were on about how streetwise this team is today. Team spirit & mentality reminds me a lot of the 2016 lot - Scowen, Watkins, Hourihane, Roberts, Mawson, Winnall etc same ilk as Anderson, Kitching, Connell, Norwood, Thomas
