Strings pulled somewhere to be allowed to sell them five thousand and not nearer 4k. Still well down compared to when they brought 7.5k by having half the west stand though. https://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/2023/01/ticket-information-barnsley-a-2
Why ? Was the allowed capacity raised or summat. ? On a stand that holds 6k+. Apart from covering the first few rows.
Hadn't noticed that tbf. I know we allocate on a request basis then provide additional if required. As often happens with allocations to ourselves at away grounds.
I think the capacity restrictions are flexible depending on how much we are prepared to spend on Stewarding and police so I expect the 4.5K was in part due to the fact we were short of Stewards Really there is no reason why the stand cant be used except perhaps the first 2 rows and a block close to the East Stand
Presumably whatever restriction was imposed has now been resolved? It's a good job really because we've the potential for some big gates in the 2nd half of the season, with Derby, Wednesday, Ipswich and Plymouth all still due to visit.
Agreed. Plymouth have sold out 3,300 for Massives this weekend, so they will bring 5k to us. Ipswich might as well if you think of the away following as a percentage of home crowd.
Its strange isnt it a massive ground like they have and they can only house 3300 away supporters maybe their ground isnt as massive as they would have some believe
I have heard home season ticket holders are being told their tickets are going to Wednesday they are that massive.
Just sold out on Wednesday... https://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/2023/02/barnsley-away-tickets-sold-out We should hope to get 12k home fans to reach a 17k crowd. Anything less will be poor.
Well apart from people who genuinely cannot get to match, all others who post on here should be getting down to oakwell and giving their support.......not tuning into match day thread and dodgy stick......cmon get behind em next week, crunch time of season coming up!
