Who is the oldest oldie on the BBS -

There will be those who were down at Oakwell in the 1950's - have we any supporters going back to the 1940's - surely no pre WW2 fans?

    JLW possibly ???

Who was the first Barnsley player to be red-carded and date ?

Don’t have to be that old to get that one as red cards weren’t introduced to the league game until 1976 , no idea who our first was , Spud possibly he was our first sub

First match I remember being there was Christmas 52/53 season we played Brentford. You could smell dubbin and the smell of cigars.
Probably didn’t mean anything to me at the time ( I was only 6 ) but Tommy Lawton was playing for Brentford that day.

Remember seeing Paddy Greenwood get sent off at Bradford in the 70's, although that was probably earlier than 76.

Don't think Bob is with us any more but he used to post about Danny Blanchflower, Tommy Taylor and the Robledo brothers. He must have been in his 90s but that was about 8 years ago.

I vaguely recall Kenny Brown getting sent off in ‘76 against Bradford City at Oakwell.
I seem to recall the crowd cheering cos he used to get some right stick !
He won Player of season though

He was never as bad as people made out to be fair. He never hid so if he had a bad game it showed up more.
Remember him scoring a screamer in a 2-1 win at Huddersfield just after they'd nicked Mick Butler off us :(

I seem to remember Kenny coming on as sub running straight across the half way line , crippling someone and running straight back off up the tunnel , although it might be another episode of false memory syndrome
