But then to insinuate we had the better of the shouts is mental. Few on their forums acknowledge our none-goal, others saying their keeper didn't try to save it because 'he heard the whistle so didn't attempt'... LOL. One or two saying the goal didnt stand because the referee blew his whistle before it went in. I'm not sure whether they're just a bit dim witted or being purposefully sarcastic. I really cannot believe any Portsmouth fan genuinely believe the referee's decisions were as bad for them as they were for us. By a mile!
I was at the game today say between three pompey fans and they all, to a man thought the referee was leaning towards us. What pleased me most was Cotters run up the right hand side near the end of the game. The lad has pace! A for our “non-goal” The referee blew his whistle before our lad tucked it away. And also, to say their keeper has not tried to stop it because he’d already heard the whistle is also typical football fan behaviour.
Yeah, my point with that bud, is we know that. Felt like they were being sarcastic. Or dim witted! First half I thought ref was meh for both teams. The foul I mention above was poor in our favour. But that second half, especially the final 10/15 minutes he was horrendous. Gave them absolutely everything
Ref messed up for coles goal, if he had given it a second longer just to see if anything came of the advantage we would have scored instead he blew for the free kick just as the ball was at coles feet. Must have felt like a right prat after that...
The thing what annoyed me more was his reaction & attitude after. I only saw from the TV but he didn't seem apologetic, he didn't apologise at all in fact, didn't put his hands up or owned up to his mistake. Just waved our players away who were complaining. I really hope he went to Duff afterwards & apologised. He's apparently a championship referee too... pftt.
I thought that his attitude was bad at the time aswell worst reffing error I've seen for a while what a prat.
Had a shocker duff says the club are lodging a complaint/report about the standard of referees they do right if I was as **** at my job I'd be sacked.
Well i have watched and listened and i believe he blew as cole connected with the ball. But the whole point of the argument is that he should have allowed a certain time for advantage. Then seeing as he did give the free kick why wasn't the pompey player booked for a tackle from behind on the edge of the box. He didn't even get a lecture. Piss poor refereeing
