No, no , no. This is impossible. EU member countries do not have any control, that comes from the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.
    Oh, hang on….

I've said it before, you really do have to admire the French people.

Best thing I've seen for ages.

Meanwhile our energy companies, like some corporate SS, are breaking into the homes of vulnerable folk to fit pre-pay meters to drive them deeper into debt.

This with bells on. I have a bill dispute that reached deadlock with EdF, ironically a french company. I said, let's go to county court to sort it out. They went to magistrates to get a warrant to fit a prepayment meter, despite being registered as a vulnerable customer, which I've managed to stop. I'm now suing them as the threat to have people break into my house caused a relapse in my PTSD. Just had a mediation hearing with them, some of the vilest people I've encountered. Going to hearing in near future. Definitely abusing their power, state sanctioned bullying.

Hope you get it all sorted. Ironic that they are French but I doubt very much that they'd get away with treating French people like this.

The French are not really a nation as such. It is so variable. They have a massive trade union movement that has not been castrated, like ours has. There are areas that would be 90% Le Pen & others that are more middle ground / left. They do have strong trade union laws & are much further to the left of politics than we will ever be in their constitution, (we don't have one), even under Keir's Labour, which is really a centre, party, not left, on other than key areas regarding the NHS / social care. I have a great MP in Leeds NW, who I will vote for.

I have friends (English) who have lived in France for around 10 years. As they keep reminding me ..we are subjects...they are citizens!...we should have had a revolution to protect the people....after years of thinking they were wrong and annoying....I now think it was me all along who was out of order.
Well done our french cousins I say

Having defeated their royals and aristocracy has clearly resulted in a much more equitable situation.

They are cashing in so much, they do not give a flying ****. Lying Tory Scum. Tory Boys, that people in Barnsley trusted. Yes, that was moronic, but based on a racist dialogue they would lap up as trouth.
