Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on Friday, but the runs were never enough today. SA might have taken until the last over but the last ten overs were a canter, in reality they’d have chased another 25 comfortably enough had they needed them.
I think we need Morgan back in some capacity whether that's as a non playing Captain or team manager. I'd concoct some sought of role for him because Butler doesn't seem to have that bite. Excellent player but not a leader and it's showing.
Yeah it’s very difficult in following such a class captain but Buttler is showing that he’s streets behind him in capabilities. We’ve got Root Wood and Bairstow to come into consideration and Archer will improve but we shouldn’t be out classed twice by a poor side like we have been. It’s World Cup this year but we don’t seem to have many 50 over games planned. Anyway, before then we have the more important five games against Australia
Don't get me started on that. Not playing enough test cricket in preparation for the Ashes. We'd have been better playing this as a test series.
