Well there is that, though the particular transfer window that saw Collins and Andersen sign those contracts didn't feel all that great for lessons learned at the time. I can see it as good news, players are committed to the club for longer now, than they were yesterday. Can see it as indifferent news because it was entirely expected. People that choose to slag the club off over it, or how they'vre reported it, need to give their heads a wobble.
It's good news in my view, as it is signalling, to any clubs interested in making a cheeky bid for any of these players, that we rate them and want them to stay with us. The suggestion is that we will not sell them on the cheap. In view of the fact that Kitching has recently signed a new 3 year deal, this news probably also indicates that none of the three is currently prepared to accept any new deal that might have been offered to them. If we go up, there's probably a good chance that one, if not all, will be happy to stay at Oakwell.
All this means is we command a fee in the summer instead of all three walking away for nowt. If we manage to go up then they all/some may sign a proper extension maybe. This is really news, not news. Definitely nowt to get excited about.
[/QUOTE] Not fussed about hanging onto any of those apart from Thomas.I'd like to see him stay. I really thought he looked like a new player this season. It would be a bit gutting to watch him finally kick on, then leave for another Club.
But they’re still all good things, aren’t they? Can you imagine the reaction if we hadn’t extended the contracts? Really not sure what else the Club could have done here.
