He is finished as a MP. James Cleverly this morning struggled to put up a case to defend him.
Hopefully the first of many to go under.

Yet again, these ******* animals need beating by a vaguely competent opposition so that they never get to ream us out again. Come on Labour, all you have to be is not **** and they're out.

Best bit is, isn’t it normally charities that run food banks, not the Government.

Thought Tory voters hate that Labour gives away free stuff as ‘there’s no magic money tree’?

My uncle volunteers at one down south. Company he works for (large house builder) regularly donates every week. So he attends to help out and deliver it etc.

He told us it's not just food, but they include clothes and toys. One day someone had donated a massive dolls house. Sure enough, a little lass was eyeing it up. But her mum couldn't afford a fiver. (Some things are sold too which I believe is added to the charity giving they do). Seeing the disappointment, my uncle whipped a fiver out his pocket, and said. It's yours kid.

The little lass (and mother) beaming smiles as they left with food they couldn't otherwise buy either.

To my uncle, it was just a fiver. He doesn't need it. But the sense of heartfelt warmth he got giving that dolls house to the little lass, he gets a lot of satisfaction from helping those who struggle. And he says that most of those seeking help are in the main so humble, and embarrassed at having to approach the foodbank.

It's great everyone helping, but as a country such as ours, we shouldn't be in this position where people can't even afford the most basics of food.

Recently a food bank has had collection points at Tannadice before games. Nothing to do with United and I’m sure they will do the same over the road.
I don’t hand over groceries as what if the weren’t there. Couldn’t take them into the ground. Anyway I throw cash into their collection bucket.
It’s soul destroying. 2023 and people out there depending on handouts because we have a heartless govt who would enjoy seeing the needy starve.

My wife and I do some Food Related Charity work, where we go to local supermarkets to collect food that they would ultimately throw away.

We collect bags and bags of just going out of date items like steak, chicken, pasties, Veg and we then take photos and add to an app where people can contact us to collect which items they want.

It’s an amazing service and as soon as we have added photos, people are straight on the app to order.

Although it’s incredibly heart warming to help in such a way, the utter despair with some of the people who have had to resort to hand outs is unbelievable. Most of the people we help are working families, one is an NHS nurse, and there’s a few on disability from the regulars.

It’s a disgrace that this is happening, it’s a disgrace that the government are whitewashing the real issues for lots of working families who are on the breadline, and it’s disgrace that Zahawi tried to dodge tax.

Well we have a PM who has been given penalties for breaking the law twice in 6 months so I wouldn’t hold your breath. Ministerial responsibility. Collective cabinet responsibility and prime ministerial responsibility seem to have been completely abandoned.

Ok... Couple of things here. The level of corruption is no surprise and am I alone in finding something really odious in James cleverly. A real nasty b@start. But...and here's where I find divergence from the zeitgeist on here. Hold the alternative to account or suffer more of the same. Stamer just said he prefers davos to parliament. Wtaf. A labour leader loving davos. That's Blair terrority. After 13 years couldn't they have come up with something better.

Is that the same Blair that got Labour into power for 13 years?

I think that quote was saying more about Westminster than Davos TBF.

Starmer also understands, as did Blair, that without Business and economical investment, this country is going down the pan.

Anyone who has a tax bill in the millions will have an accountant to do the work. He will be paid to minimise the bill and will have been told that the trust didn't benefit Zahawi to the extent it clearly does. A competent accountant wouldn't have taken that as fact without some corroboration. Ergo Zahawi misled his accountant.

    "Careless" - my arse.

Zahawi is the biggest liar out of the lot of them, and that's saying something. That genuinely is a bloke who can make his mouth say anything.

You knew on that interview that he was talking BS that even he didn’t believe.

Remember this isn’t just not paying tax, this is moving money into Trusts in known Tax havens like Gibraltar and The Cayman Islands.

This isn’t something you forget, or don’t do deliberately. This is out and out Tax Evasion and should carry a prison sentence.

    Note.

Those last 2 paragraphs weren’t aimed at you mate, just a point I wanted to get off my chest. I’ve often thought Zahawi was the worst of the lot after Johnson.
