Been on court 5hrs 15 mins was losing 2sets to love now 2sets all shame if he don’t win after all the energy expended
I’m not a fan of tennis, cos I don’t like elitist sports, but I can’t help but be impressed by what the players put themselves though. There’s probably only boxing that rivals it, but tennis players have the bonus that there’s nobody trying to clout them.
That was absolutely unbelievable to be fair. Metal hip, 35 years of age, nearly six hours on court and finishing after 4am. Quite extraordinary really. He doesn’t have to do this anymore. He’s got plenty of money and he’s not what he was eight years ago of course. But he carries on as he’s a born competitor and just needs to compete. The grit, heart, desire; there are plenty in many other sports could learn a lot from him. Proper warrior. Hats off to him.
Such grit and determination from Murray. I thought he was done a couple of years ago but here he is now, metal hip in place, and he’s pulling results like this and the first round win out.
The match lasted 5 hrs 45 minutes which is the longest match he’s ever played in ! The next longest was 5 hrs 7 minutes. A truly magnificent performance
Absolutely brilliant - just seen this point when he had already lost the first 2 sets and was a break down in the 3rd talk about not giving up
I’m guessing that it’s because it’s prime time in UK and Western European countries, but dunno if that’s right
Not so sure about that mate. No 1 brit Norrie is due on court tomorrow 4am uk time. Murray has raged about being on court at nearly 3am local time, which seems crazy to me. Even under lighting. I wonder if a limited number of courts are available. And matches running over. Eg lots of 5 setters.
They are night matches same as the us open they have night sessions and due to a match running over it started late about 10pm local time.
The guy is a machine even with a metal hip. It's ridiculous though that he was playing until 4:08 am. It shouldn't be allowed to happen, especially at a major.
