That's bonkers that. Why can't we just play on Saturday, what has the coronation got to do with changing it?

I understand that's the reason it's been moved, but genuine question, when was the last time the final game of the season was played on a Saturday at 3pm? I know through the 90s and 00s we often played on the Sunday at 12pm.

League ones last season were played at 1pm on the Saturday iirc, as I recall listening to the final stages of Rotherham's game on the way back from ours with Preston (which was a 12:30pm kick off from memory).

Generally to swerve the 3pm blackout and televise games.

Why is league 1 different to the other two ? If there is any logic there then I’m missing it

Midday on a Sunday is a joke. Especially for such an important round of fixtures. I know a few folk that simply won’t be able to go.

Imagine if the season is on the line that day?? Could be a winner takes all for the final play off spot!! And…… the ground is half empty. Beyond ridiculous.

Will be for TV. They always split the 3 leagues up so they can show as much as possible.

Are less people available on Sundays than Saturdays? As a general rule?

Guessing it's more the kick off time than the day.

Our ground is always half empty.;)
I don't think changing the day will have a massive effect if something is on the line. And if nowt at stake. us v Peterborough ain't going to draw in the punters. Regardless.

They just don't get it do they. Sunday fixtures are a pain for a lot of fans. Fans who they don't give a crap about when they make decisions.

Sunday fixtures are also easier for a lot of fans. A lot more people work Saturdays than Sundays

Sundays are for junior Football and public transport is more of a pain. It's going to affect the crowd.

It's a bit of both isn't it. Sunday's suit some people, Saturdays others. What I want to know is why did they schedule it for Saturday at all when it's always a Sunday

Are they? I know the final match in the Championship usually tends to be on a Sunday, but I thought for Division 1 it's usually on a Saturday?
