11 appearances in the championship you mean I would put him well above the attacking options we currently have
Based on what? And I'm not defending Norwood and Cole as they haven't scored enough just not convinced he's the answer.
Did really well on loan to Pompey last season but not done much else tbf. I’d still have been happy for us to sign him on loan though. Big strong and pacy type of forward we lack. That said, there’s no way would we have the funds to have got him. Fact is we can’t compete financially with the four main sides in L1 so we need to accept that.
Coles got 8 so far you would expect him to score another 5 by end of season and he's ***** according to all our fans. We need a striker who will get you 20 plus a season like Moore or cauley last time we were in league one.
Looks like the powers that be at Ipswich and Plymouth realise that the time is right to recruit is when you’re doing well
Difference is the powers that be at Plymouth and Ipswich have the cash to spend. As do Wednesday, Derby and Bolton. That’s what we’re up against and to be fair it’s a miracle what Duff has done to get us where we are now with such a poor squad.
Exactly. The wage contribution that Ipswich will be paying for Hurst will be beyond what we can offer.
I agree and it’s no dig at our board but it certainly helps to put in perspective how far we have fallen behind in the football finance’s mainly due to the summer of Conway which has put us back years. I’ve no problem with knowing our place and not overspending but i still hope Duff is backed a little bit so we can hold on to a playoff place.
I'd rather miss out than make the Play-Offs this side isn't good enough to win the Play-Offs. Automatic is and was our main hope if it was to be done this season. People will think what's he on about if your good enough for automatic you're good enough for Play-Offs. This side has shown nothing in a pressure game thus far this season. It has more chance of winning x amount of matches on the bounce providing it score first than it has in one off games.
Deffo agree at the minute if we go a goal behind the body language is terrible but i wouldn’t give up a 6th place finish if offered it now.
I don't see point in a play-off spot if you aren't good enough to win them. I reckon Derby, Bolton, Plymouth, Ipswich and Sheff Wed all have our beating.
If season finished yesterday I’d be definitely worried about going into a playoff game but if I’m honest and hopefully with a better squad by the end of January i could still see us beating any of them teams over two legs if we’re on our game.Playoff football doesn’t always go to form.
The thing about a play off spot though SD is that, if we can get to Wembley we generate a lot of much needed cash. You're right though, I don't see us getting past Derby or Wednesday to actually win them. We need a quality striker for that.
I make that NINE forwards the've got now with Hirst, Ladapo, Chaplin, Harness, John-Jules, Ahadme, Jackson and Aluko!
