When we've conceded first this season, we've very rarely looked like getting back into the game. The Ipswich game is the big anomaly where we've went behind twice and managed to rescue a point. Other than that, I'm fairly certain we've lost every time we've fallen behind this season. Obviously we lack strength in depth. Clearly adding Watters is a step towards addressing that, and another striker is probably required too. Duff has eluded to wanting another right back, which could be even more pressing matter now Edwards is injured. One area where a few have said we're okay is central midfield, however when you look at our bench, we don't seem to have many options to change the game.
Same last season as well. I don't recall the last game where we've won after going behind - probably under Val. In front of actual fans, it was the final home game of the 2018/19 season when we came from behind to beat Blackpool 2-1. Yep. Our fans haven't seen us win a game from behind for nearly 4 years. Spineless
We used to do it regularly under Val. It was slightly different then as we got into a habit of conceding really early. We could stick to plan A and grind out a result.
We need another option up top. Norwood and Cole are usually on their last legs after an hour. Get back to substituting both forwards, like we used to under Val, and making use of the five subs.
Need another forward, a RWB and now another CH. Can’t see it happening though given our poor financial state.
Had Solbauer, Mowatt and Helik in that team. Even players like Chaplin and Frieser will have added some character and better mentality to the side. We lacked leadership last season, and not really addressed that.
