Genuine question What fine did Huddersfield receive for the disgraceful scenes at the end of the play off with Luton ?
£70k. Interestingly HTFC also make reference to potential future costs as a result as repeats could lead to increased match day costs as they could be forced to have more Stewards or even Police in the ground. Not seen anyone mention the risk of this for us, if SYP were having to have more on duty in the ground the costs I would imagine would hurt much more than a fine from the FA.
Don't know how many were involved in the incident. But given the amount of stewards running towards it.(some staying well clear alongside the fence) I'm guessing a few. The stewards are there for a reason but most not, I'm guessing trained how to handle a violent situation. Would be interesting to know if any police were on duty inside the ground. I Wasnt looking for any so didn't notice. Allus a copper at away games videoing our fans behaviour. Maybe need one near the ponte. I'm guessing no cctv around the side or back of the west stand south.
The only pushing and shoving i saw was by the stewards but yet they say 2 of them were hurt . Beggars belief
It was in the West stand. Personally I'd have taken the lad inside with the Safeguarding officer and then sent another steward to fetch the adult he was with. It didn't need to play out in front of an audience. I'm sure procedures will be looked at .
tbf, just because that's all you saw, doesn't mean that's all that happened. I very much doubt the Club are lying about the treatment received by stewards.
What’s it all coming to eh? I used to take a ball to the ground and have a kick about on the pitch at half time while the supporters changed ends passing each other under the brewery stand.
No need for sarcasm. As i said the pushing was being done by the stewards that is what i saw if there was any shoving back as you are suggesting there would have been one hell of a scrap and there wasn't. Well not inside the ground anyway because as soon as the stewards had shoved the fans out of the big gates they shut the gates and kept it locked even after the match and diverted fans onto the top of other fans coming out of the next gate causing more chaos. And bang went the old thing about having to leave via the gate that covers your seat
Silly question but if it was only stewards and fans did absolutely nothing wrong then who the hell was launching cones over the wall?
I'm not being sarcastic. I'm just saying we don't yet know everything that happened. you saw stewards pushing, I'm sure you right. but two stewards also ended up with head injuries. you didn't see that.
I never saw any cones over the wall. And all i heard fans say was let the lad go he was only a kid and the heavy mob shoved them out of the gate. That is all i saw. I am not making up stories i am not siding with anyone just stating what i saw. But one thing i did see was the steward hold of the young lad and not asking for his parents or guardians which was what he should have done
He shouldn't have to ask where the kids parents were because they should have made themselves known. But I'm guessing they were hiding in the mob hoping to avoid what's coming their way from the club. It's quite clear what the rules are you don't go on the pitch and if you do you should be prepared to suffer the consequences and if you're the parent if it's a kid who goes on then you've not lived up to your responsibilities so you should suffer the consequences too. If and it's if the stewards acted inappropriately then they should be dealt with, but let's be right if the kid had behaved in the way he should have he wouldn't have had to be dealt with by the stewards in the first place.
All true but still doesn't alter the fact the stewards did not do their job correctly a bit like the referee didn't do his properly. When the ref lost it he took it out of the players with cards. The stewards took it out of the fans telling them to let the kid go. I believe i am a good citizen but i dare say when i was a lad i did some things i shouldn't have. Its called learning
I wonder how many fans ended up in hospital compared to how many stewards. And how many stewards were throwing missiles at people. The problem for me is that people hate stewards and can't wait to cause trouble with them.
Well i am sorry but just to say what i saw no missiles being thrown either way i didn't see any one hurt just one almighty surge of stewards shoving fans back to perimeter wall and through the gates then the gates were shut i did not see any retaliation from the fans. If you ask me it was a case of handbags
What part of their job didn't they do properly? They apprehended a person who illegally encroached onto the playing surface and were escorting him either out of the ground or in this case as he was a minor to be handed over to the police so they could then contact his parents and deal with the matter. The fact some mindless idiots decided to intervene is where the real trouble started
I saw one steward completely lose the plot and have to be physically dragged away by two or three of his colleagues. Whatever the provocation he is an employee of Barnsley Football Club, and to my eyes his behaviour and conduct was disgraceful.
