Once again, nothing spectacular, but very effective. Solid at the back, lively down the wings, combative in midfield and distinctively average in the final third. A class apart from the opposition without being anything necessarily special. Michael Duff has got us ticking over nicely, and another striking option in the final third could be what we need to become title challengers. We need to move early in January, strengthen while we're in form.
More or less agree mate, however we need 2 strikers for me..... we very short up front and doing marvellous considering options at present but I do believe lack of firepower will catch up with us if we don’t strengthen.....I am sure there will be signings however.....COYR!
I always thought that we had players that should do well in this division and it's nice to see other fans expectation levels rising. Cole and Norwood are two great strikers at this level and Jalo will only add to the quality as he progresses but agree that a bit more depth up front could make the difference in getting us promoted.
After just about half a season we have just about the meanest defence in the league. No need to meddle with that. By selling anyone. Up top everyone knows we lack what it takes to allow Duff to perform a miracle this season. A minor playoff miracle now seems possible however with this squad.
If Duff is that good history suggests that he will be going to a bigger club at the end of the season. There are a number of precedents over the last 10 years. I hope his contract contains a prohibitive buy out clause and a sanity clause.
History suggests that Duff is with out a doubt one of the most loyal men in the game, he has only been two clubs before us in his whole playing/managerial career , I actually think he has started a project & if we do make it then it will be stage one of his project done & he will want to stick around & take his project to his next goal.
Goals win games....clean sheets win titles. Not sure who stated that but I believe our coach is absolutely maximizing his /our strengths....and long may it continue. I do hope the board back him and we get that striker we so desperately need. It was kind of flat today but we did ok and deservedly took all 3 points. Approach play including balls into the box ...very good. Special mentions to Anderson cadden, Connell, Kane Williams and cole.
Drab atmosphere and little skill on show in what was a largely boring match. But we win to nill once more and showed up the so called MOTM award curse.
Bolton,Wednesday, Ipswich and Derby to play at Oakwell,so should be some cracking atmospheres for them.
Bit naive I reckon. If we miss out on promo I imagine he’ll be off if a Championship club comes in. And fair dos. I do think he’ll stay if we get promoted though.
Plymouth too. Quite something to still have the other five of the top six still to come at Oakwell. With our form, home advantage and games in hand, we are in a very good position. Bolton will probably bring 4k as they take good followings everywhere. Wednesday and Derby will sell out whatever we give them. Plymouth will bring around 3k I reckon. Ipswich should bring around 2k. All followings better than what we've seen this season. The 172 Burton fans looked like they thought they still had to social distance.
Not sure why you would say naive, I think the guy is unique in his loyalty , I do not think it is naive to believe that a man of principle like Duff will alter , I strongly believe any job the guy takes on is for the long term , it appears to be in his DNA .
Couldn't give a monkey's toss how many they bring as long as we win. Never understood this fixation with watching crowds and attendances when what unites us is playing on the field.
