Obviously, there's been a few games where every stoppage has been added to the end of the half. But what's happened more than that, and is becoming increasingly annoying, is the commentators feigning shock when a normal amount of added time is signalled. "only 2 minutes, I thought I'd read the board wrong then", just one phrase which seems to be said in pretty much every game that has any less than 4 minutes injury time (which is the majority if we're being honest). New material needed.
Matterface was annoying me so much last night. Nothing to do with time. It's his jinxing stats. It's like he's trying to pre-empt his next story. You can tell he's a journalist. I wish he'd shutter his face.
He's horrific. No idea how he's ended up with such a gig while the likes of Tyldsley, Champion etc take a back seat. "This is the most watched TV event of the year..." is how he began last night's commentary. Idiot.
When he said that, I thought to myself, that's an incredible assumption to make in a year where the Queen has died.
I like A!!y McCoist he shows a real enthusiasm for the game and can come out with some funny comments. He tends to be quite positive about players and games too.
