For sure mate. I do think it goes to show how much the 'smaller' nations are slowly improving too! With the exception of Scotland and Wales...:D

The only fancied team I’ve not seen is Brazil, but France look better then the rest.

They took a while to get going but Brazil definitely improved towards end of the game. In fact they looked a lot better when Neymar went off. He's injured for next 2 games. The attacking players for Brazil are incredibly impressive, a real wealth of talent

Croatia turned it around! Good finish, if a little fortunate it landed where it did

City would batter any World Cup side. Familiarity & quality makes great sides. Any top club side would be too much for any top international side.

The only one that gets close for me would be the Spain 2008-12 side that had pretty much half Barca & half Real players but even they would lack Messi so it’s a tough one.

How do we avoid playing France in the Quarters? By winning our group or finishing second?

If we finish top & France do, and we beat whoever finishes second in group A in RO16, and France do, we'll meet in QF. So it varies on that

We meet if we both win the groups and then get thru the next round. If we finish second in the group, we'll mostly face Netherlands in the next round. Even if we win the group, we can still avoid France in the quarters by losing in the next round, which is obviously very possible.
    I think.

I really dislike the term they are all using "round of 16", when did that become a thing. Its the second round. Sounds very American.
