A winnable game and the chance to progress. It’s our year this year after beating Bolton. 1912 all over again!
Might be a decent year for the lower leagues in the 3rd round with injured/fatigued prem players after the world cup
It’s a great draw, in that we should be capable of making it through to the third round, but a terrible draw in respect of the planned weekend in Exeter we were looking forward to, as that’s on third round day. Exeter away on a Tuesday night beckons.
It's a Cup. The idea is to get as far as you can or what's the point. To that end it's a pretty damn good draw as long as we take it seriously.
Exeter are away in the second round to either Woking or Oxford, so even if we lose to Crewe we aren't guaranteed a game on third round day unless Portsmouth lose home to MK Dons so we can finally set a date for our home league game with them.
I just had a look at Crewe on the highlights packages from Saturday. Decent keeper kept Leyton Orient at bay and a cracking late winner. It won’t be an easy game but we ought to be good enough
Is it hell a dreadful draw, Ipswich away would’ve been bad. It’s a great and realistic chance of progressing to 3rd round, what can be terrible about that. I’m sure we won’t underestimate Crewe and give them all due respect, but an absolutely winnable game
I would have thought that a home draw against a team from a league below is a decent draw, if we get through then we receive more cash & we reach the third round draw with the potential of further cash rewards , why do you think it is a dreadful draw ?
Cos we played them a few seasons ago. Would have rather played a team we haven’t met for a while. It’s only an opinion for gods sake.
The ideal result would be that we both get through and draw Exeter away in the third round. Weekend jolly back on, with the knowledge that either us or our Exeter supporting mates will be in round 4. Sorted.
Just don't like ties against teams we have played often. For me the FA Cup is about playing those you have never played or very rarely get to play. Chester was a good cup tie. Liverpool and Chelsea were. As was Bromsgrove. At least it isn't another league one side, so it's a slightly better draw in this round.
Yes it is an opinion and one that I’m baffled by. So it’s a bad draw because we played them ‘a few seasons ago’
