Good finish to the match though. We pinged the ball about nicely and they couldn't get it off us. I was never worried that they would get a third to be honest, despite the slightly nervy defending at times. That's to be expected though with young lads playing against league players. Great win and well worth the tenner to watch it on iFollow. Why some people run this competition down I really don't understand. A win is a win, however we get it and whoever is playing. It was great seeing so many young prospects not looking out of place. Had we kept Phillips and Edwards on I doubt we would have conceded at all. There's no doubt though that Miller made a big difference for them. Not saying we should have kept him though
Don't think many people at all did that, bud. It's only when the Premier League u21's joined it. Brings nothing at all to the competition besides pandering to the 'big' clubs. It's a fantastic competition for league 1 and 2 clubs to have their shot at Wembley. I loved it personally
He scored fairly regularly in league 2 for Walsall last season, and only really struggled when they deployed him as a line striker by all accounts. I reckon he could have been worth another 12 month deal here in league 1, but long term, I can't see him being a championship striker, which is what we're aspiring to. I could be wrong, and I'd be delighted for the lad if I am. As an aside, Paul Conway once described him as our number 1 transfer target in a window where we also signed Kieffer Moore and Oli McBurnie.

The EFL run it down by allowing PL u21s in. It’s a competition designed to get 2 lower league clubs to play a Wembley final. What a disaster it would be if 2 of them reached the final
Donny fans are claiming a second half victory on their forum, they never change. Our kids had won after 34 mins so we let them get the crayons out for the last hour before the parents came to pick them up.
