Quickly what? (12) "When the seagulls follow the trawler" - Eric Cantona's bizarre press conference - YouTube
I'm not sure that finishing outside the top 6 with Barnsley in League 1 will have many suitors banging down the door. Getting in the playoffs is pretty much par. Think he's likely to get a lot of offers if he can stabilise us in the Championship, which personally I would back him to do.
Hopefully good news for us, according to Doug O'Kane, Matty Taylor the most successful manager against Micheal Duff https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/23811/comment-october-optimism-for-barnsley
Never a good fit for me,they needed to cut costs,Neil Warnock started the process and it's continued. I think someone posted on here they were underwritten by Steve Gibson to the total of @£80million. They were never going to trouble the top of the table only having Duncan Watmore as a striker. Think they will stay up but only just.
Genuinely thought you were joking until I found this! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18560049...9uM65p_QO-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
To be honest that's the cheapest I've seen them for some time! I've seen copies for £1k before, unbelievable! My 'Steffa Barnesa' comment earlier in the thread is a nod to the Quickly Kevin podcast, who actually do a read-along for subscribers Steffa Barnesa is a foreign mickey take on the novel's protagonist, 'Steve Barnes', who has an uncanny resemblance to the author. I've not read any of the infamous novels due to the cost, but I've heard enough from the QK podcast to know they are truly terrible examples of 'literature', yet the intrigue is huge! There's a cult following for sure.
It gets worse apparently. He had a sponsorship deal with jaguar at the time. His main character unsurprisingly drove one and apparently whole pages are dedicated to how great the car is and listing it's extras.
Rings a bell this! I'm sure they talk about him hot-footing it across the moors in a jag on the poddy classic Bruce! I mean, Barnes..
Found a few gems sith @Darfield138 The Jag was in its usual place, outside the club reception. It’s an XJ8, 3.2, sports version, V Reg. As I drove fast to the infirmary, following the ambulance as it cut a swathe through the traffic I wasn’t thinking of power assisted steering and speed sensitive variable ratios… The XJ8 has just about everything a man could wish for in a motor car. Or, for that matter, a woman could ask for. While there are few women in the highest levels of soccer management, there are many women in business at top managerial levels. They’ll make their presence felt in soccer as the years go by. Mechanically, the car has many excellent features. 3.2 litre AAJ-V8 all alloy engine; anti-locking brake system; facia and side-airbags for both the driver and the front passenger; power assisted steering; stability control; five speed electronic automatic transmission. The audio system couldn’t be better. There are nine speakers and a six-disc CD autochanger. Do I sound like a car salesman? Believe me I could sell this motor and have no problem, because I genuinely believe it’s one of the best cars on the road.
Not sure about this to be honest. Duff has shown incredible loyalty to two clubs in this modern age of football merry-go-round. I genuinely believe he wants to build something here and is in it for the long run, unless something spectacularly bad happens behind the scenes.
