Under normal circumstances we'd probably all be saying 'get him in'. Weird innit...

I’m a bit surprised that Steve Bruce is still hanging on at WBA, especially when they got rid of Val when they were in the top six or there abouts

Quite right, talking to a kid from Rotherham, at Soap Box on Sunday said Warne took all his staff an all, reckons they'll go into free fall now, personally i hope not, nice little set up at Rotherham.

Interesting where Wilder pops up next the job he did at the blunts will get him another crack but surely the flat nose geordie when WBA pull the plug must be done.

At least it will give him time to work on his much-anticipated next novel. The world waits fervently.

Here are two extracts from his book Sweeper!
'The gun was level with my belly. So this was what it was like to die. There was no doubt I was going to die. And not even in Newcastle. Not even Premier League. In Halifax, of all places, with a club in the third division.'

'I prepared and ate breakfast. My mother always impressed on me as a lad the importance of a good breakfast. I don’t go the full Monty: I can manage without a pork chop and black pudding. But I like cereals, followed by bacon and eggs. And toast with marmalade. All washed down with tea. That’s the kind of breakfast a man such as me needs.'

A reviewer wrote: 'This is a vexing book. On the one hand it is one of the most poorly writen books I have ever read, yet it is hugely satisfying.'

Bruce himself dismissed his literary output to-date 'the biggest load of crap ever written.'

His novels go for upwards of a thousand sterling, more than an OG copy of the pseudonymised Jane Eyre (by 'Currer Bell'). :)

Wilder thrives at clubs that need rebuilding. He was never going to be successful at a club like Boro who want instant success. He would have been a good shout to take over at Derby if they waited a week or so.

When we appointed Duff. I sat there thinking we'll lose Duff before the jobs done. I have the same feeling about him that I did with Lee Johnson (in spite of the losing run). Just know they've got the gift of the gab, know how to get fans onside and ultimately f cu k off. Young, hungry managers are the modern day template.

It was a strange thing when they got rid of Val as they were in fact lying fifth in the table & then set on a dinosaur like Bruce , well they got what they deserved , apparently they were not happy with the winning style of Vals football & sacked him following their first home defeat of the season, I bet they are loving it under Bruce , I hope they go down.

I wouldn't hang onto that feeling for too long mate. not good for the soul. managers are every bit as ambitious as players, and generally just as loyal. if we managed to get promoted this year I think he'd stay. if we just missed out though, say in the play offs or just outside top 6, I think he'll be off.
