2nd wasn’t a yellow but he didn’t need to get involved like that for the first yellow which was stupid if you watch the extended highlights on the Barnsley website.

What a bizarre decision. He fell because the Cambridge player collided with him and in falling also brought down that player. The lino was the one flagging but if anything it should have gone the other way.
Perhaps he grabbed the player after he fell to bring him down (we could not see from that angle though the lino could).
In any case it was not a goal scoring opportunity and certainly not dangerous play or unsporting behaviour. If they started yellow carding 'fouls' like that every time you would end up with 7 per side and match abandoned.

Sheeesh! Refs are getting worse and worse!!

Just watched the extended highlights on the official site (nearly ten minutes and it’s free) and it seems George Williams has developed a really nasty streak. His goading of Kitching was disgraceful and he and other home players certainly influenced the referee. We might complain about our number 5 but I think I’d rather see him in the team than out of it. He’ll learn and will improve.

Three cracking goals and that pass from Kitching to Cole was unreal. Well taken header for number two and a class bit of centre forward play for number three. I’m travelling back to the UK on Wednesday and really looking forward to the Charlton game. I hope we can keep this unbeaten run going.

Just watched that. The home commentator when the sending off happened mentioning the last twenty minutes for us being an all mighty struggle :D

no way was that a bookable offence. sending off.
Kitching puts everything into the game. Hard tackling. powerful going forward. strong in the air. deserves his place.
    we will miss him.

Hmmm, I thought Kitching's was a clear yellow from that. Have no idea whether the first booking was justified.

Excellent finishing from us, but the defending was barely worthy of being called professional football. This is in no way diminishing what was a superb result under very trying circumstances, more an observation. Bristol Rovers v Lincoln was a good deal worse mind. Some lovely finishing, but the defending was utterly farcical.
