I've criticised and people are still going bonkers but credit to the club on this deal not letting him go for nothing the deal makes perfect sense
The cynic in me would. However, it's set the cogs turning in my head. Has some more money become available from the board with us not sanctioning a permanent transfer. Millwall seem a bit peeved about this. Apparently Barnsley had an 11th hour change of heart. Why did we suddenly waive a fee that would have secured the clubs immediate future. Some money has got to have come in from somewhere.
That’s a good point. If we were desperate we’d have accepted one of the lower bids earlier in the window, instead we rejected them and somehow got him to extend his contract. Helik sale might have helped here, giving us a bit more of a cash buffer, either that or another injection from the board or assurances from the board that we’d be covered should we end up not being able to pay bills later in the season. Who knows. Clever and gutsy move though. There’s obviously some confidence that we’ll be ok financially, even though there must still be some shortfall remaining
Yes i dont mind this deal styles obviously sees himself as a championship player he now gets the chance to go prove it again. If he comes good we will get offers if not he will be back here.
First I thought 'fair play' to Callum for allowing BFC to retain a stronger financial stake. But now it feels more likely 'they' had him over a barrel. Sign or sit in the reserves... it goes on all the time..
If they have (and I doubt they have) injected more funds it makes the fact we didn't manage to strengthen our attacking options even more baffling.
That's just it though. This deal for Styles fuels more speculation as it's great news but equally baffling at the same time.
Styles plastered all over Millwall official site now so where is this striker we've supposedly aquired.Fans being drip feed again !
Kudos to the club. What if nobody comes in for him? Then he's here until 2025. That's not a gamble I'd have thought the club would have taken on a player that wanted away and had lost his form. Unless they had the funds to back it up. No conspiracy a genuine bit of intrigue.
Im hearing last night there was the biggest cash injection from the owners we have ever seen..... Conway turned up and used his own pound coin in the office vending machine.
Maybe financially we are not at rock bottom as people think and maybe our owners have a little bit of business sense.
Makes perfect sense, if he performs well his value will increase. When Huddersfield were relegated from the prem, Aaron Mooy signed a new deal then went immediately to Brighton. Callum will have got a nice pay increase which Millwall will have to pay!
