He keeps setting his own targets and then fails to meet them. Protracted head coach search. Getting deals done before preseason started etc. whilst I understand finances might have dictated on the latter he perhaps should have considered this a factor before making such claims, which to me thinks that he perhaps talks about things which sound great without actually thinking if they are deliverable. Thought we had moved towards under promising and over delivering well I think it’s fair to say we have failed on both counts. Not one sign of improvement on the matchday experience. The kids club is basically just a drop in centre now, there’s nothing worth visiting in there to do.
Speaking of 99.9% - I reckon I'm privy to about 0.1% of what Khaled does at BFC. Or I would be if I watched/listened/read all his interactions with fans/media, which I don't. I have no idea what he does with 99.9% of his working life* and have no idea if he's any good at it.I can't think of a subject I'm less qualified to comment on than the CEO at BFC's competence. I don't like that we've partnered with Hex, but for all I know it could have been brought to the table by another party in the BFC set-up, Khaled argued strongly against it, but was outvoted by other members of the board. I simply don't know. I think Kitching is pretty rubbish**. I have formed that opinion after watching him get skinned countless times by opposition wide players. I don't claim my opinion of him to be a fact, I understand others may judge him much more favourably, but I feel comfortable holding my opinion of him because I've seen him play 30 times. I haven't watched Khaled do any part of his job for even 30 seconds. *Many fans appear to hold the opinion that the role of a CEO is that of a press officer and is primarily communication to fans and the media. That's a tiny fraction of his job. CEOs in most companies don't ever speak to customers or the media. **I also hope he gets better.
Pretty sure this point is made every-time SuperTyke brings this up (which is every few weeks I think). Only the board and the people who work for him can truly answer this.
Good points. My point about Chien by the way was just saying, JAQ was born in Australia but is US-based now, so her birthplace isn't reflective of where she's at business-wise. You may have a point about her intentions, but she is clearly trying hard to win fans over rather than the sheer arrogance of Conway, and the phantom Chien. Everyone in business is looking to further themselves to an extent, but obviously there are different ways to go about things. You make a point about Neerav surrounding himself with footballing people, this i think will be crucial to the success of the club, along with Khaled.
Not strictly true. It says Khaled was happy to get the deal over the line, and i take this as simply a generalised comment from the comms team, not a declaration that Khaled did the deal. Maybe he was happy to just get it 'over the line' from a club perspective. It doesn't, for example, say Khaled has personally been in negotiations for weeks with the Hex henchmen/heavies etc. and was delighted to reach into his blazer pocket, pull out his brand-new engraved ('Toby') Parker pen, and get Hex to sign on the dotted line. Having said that @SuperTyke , maybe he did!
I would say the truth is somewhere in the middle. He might be (probably) a bit *****, but he’s probably done some good stuff too. I don’t know, as I just go to watch Barnsley play football, because I love the club.
A bit like my boss really, seems nice enough on a personal level but out of their depth professionally.
Can't argue with this. Who'd want Morrissey anywhere near their football club. Didn't know he'd got into crypto currency. If meat is murder, crypto is chicanery
I’m confused I thought the ‘new board’ that replaced the ‘old board’ and Conway leaving solved all our problems. Could it possibly be those of us who said it did not were right…
He's up there with the worst CEO of recent times. His tenure has been utterly calamitous, to the extent he's making Linton Brown's stint look good.
tbf I'm not sure anyone ever said it solved all our problems. I think most people were just relieved to see Conway go, but acknowledged there were still huge problems to address. this hex thing though, is just unfathomable. it completely blows my mind how it's been allowed to happen. and none of that is on Conway. agree with you there, 100%
I think if we are going to have a poll a 3rd opinion is needed. I.e. I reserve judgement until the end of the transfer window, as that's where I'm at.
I also think that not being an anonymous poll is a little self- fulfilling prophecy…..having said that, I was very border line with my own view, & based solely on their eventual appointment of a great candidate for manager…
by clearing it up you mean taking money from a scam company that exploits vulnerable people run by a bloke convicted of scamming people before with a poor attitude towards the LGBT+ community?
