    I’ve a load of mates out that way n can I hell as work out why you don’t say home :D:D:D

    Weird one this, the over 50s seem to say Ome, the younger end say Uwam. I’ve not a clue why! We’re just grateful we don’t have that lousy false donny/wakey twang they have in royston

    Do you mean 'ome' or 'om'? It's a while since I lived in Barnsley but I remember some people used 'om' - any idea which areas?

    Is this what Judith is referring to? 'Ome' just sounds like a typical Barnsley way of saying it i.e. dropping the 'h'. Or 'uwam', as Goldy referenced.
