Not a happy bunny their owner and especially that he's been informed our boxing day clash there will be available against his wishes.
So his complaint is that away clubs with lots of supporters keep the iFollow money rather than them getting in To be fair he has a point to some degree as I guess he has the costs of putting on the game and if fans chose to watch on iFollow rather than physically go it does effect their income. Not sure he can just walk out of a contract though and it will hurt Accrington fans a lot more than anyone else could also cost them any share of TV money etc
Surely not 3pm games? Ok there are people robbing clubs paying for dodgy streams but as soon as you can see a 3pm game through a simple legal or illegal search then clubs will fold.
To be fair its really not that difficult, either using dodgy illegal links, or a VPN and a legal ifollow link in another country and paying the fee - its not the same as actually going to the game though.
The accy owner is right though. The streaming model is moving us towards a model that the big clubs have been seeking for the last two decades (at least), where they can sell their own tv rights. Any of the so called bigger clubs wanting this will be changing their minds if and when they move up the pyramid.
