Rather than use kennels? we're thinking of starting a service where we'd take dogs in for people off on holiday or whatever, we've been dog owners for many years and now we're both coming upto retirement age we think it would suit us both.
Any info would be much appreciated.

We do and it gives real piece of mind. We have two cockapoos and it’s a retired couple who take them in.

We provide the food and they send us clips of them out walking and playing. I know they are just dogs but they are happy going there.

I don’t use one but I pretty much am one. I don’t get paid so if money is a factor then this wouldn’t be for you but have you considered fostering/puppy raising for Guide Dogs (or Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, Police Dogs etc.)?

We do it but only for family, we have one at the moment, a Cairn Terrier called Teddy... We have done it for others before but with us having the motorhome it would tie us down a bit. We're getting £10 a day from Anne's brother but we don't actually ask for anything. They provide all the food, beds and toys etc.

We use one at Darfield, about £18.50 for overnight stay. They do daycare for a couple of quid a day less.

I use one but we haven't got a dog. We find them much cheaper than childminders and the kids always come back well exercised. They certainly prefer it to the kennels.

Used one in Castleford a few years ago. Was a like a dog hotel, all had a room to themselves.

It seemed good. Dog might have hated it like, we’ll never know ahah
