Lucky last day, folks! Today's not tips: 2.30 Alfred Munnings (11/10) 3.05 Noble Truth (9/2) 4.20 Home Affairs (9/4) I have also succumbed to a small bet on Minzaal (12/1) - my "cliff" horse! 5.00 Silver Samurai (7/1 is disappearing - big gamble expected) Hurricane Lane should win the 3.40 but is too short to back. In the 5.35 & 6.10 I haven't a scooby! I see John Gosden is still chuntering about Frankie's Thursday rides - I doubt he'll still be using Frankie by the end of the season. I've just belatedly watched Nick Luck's interview with Chris Waller from last Sunday on YouTube. What a fantastic and modest feller Chris Waller is. I'd recommend looking it up. Good Luck today, cobbers!
I was just looking at Trueshan … the going is still good to firm , it’s been watered a bit overnight and showers are expected later in afternoon. I can’t see that the going will be any more favourable to him than Gold Cup day but it looks an easier task. Sorry to jump in with your query but the info was fresh in my mind
Just one for me today. 4.20 - Creative Force. Excellent course form - won at the meeting last year. Won the Champion Sprint last autumn. Slight issue with the ground, but if it eases slightly with a bit of rain then I can't see it out of the first three.
The going is still good to firm, with the Clerk of the Course saying in his update light showers only - mainly arriving after racing. Trueshan won't run unless a deluge unexpectedly arrives, but if it does he will instantly go to Evens. And we would have to wait until 6.10 pm to find out - way after dinner/drinks time!
I think it'll run cos the field is nowhere near as strong, unless they think risk of injury. Just speculating
He has won on good but you’ve got to respect the trainer and owners knowledge and 2.5 miles is a long way in terms of any physical damage. Orsen seems think he won’t run without a going change but I haven’t got a clue
https://m.skybet.com/horse-racing/royal-ascot/event/29740488 Money back as cash if your horse finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th in the 2:30. I would say back Alfred Munnings at evens because looking at them odds if it doesn't double your tenner it should at least get you your money back.
He's never run on anything firmer than good. But rather more to the point, his form on good ground is 11lbs inferior to his best ratings. As things stand, he isn't even top-rated on Timeform or Racing Post Ratings. That's because he incurs penalties for his previous top-level wins. By way of example, he concedes ten pounds to Falcon Eight, who won last year's Chester Cup. So at 7/4 as things stand, and likely Evens if it rains, I can't personally have him as a value bet. But I stand prepared to be proved wrong!
I don’t like 2 year old races as they’re only babies and tend to be unreliable and little or no form. I’m not trying to put you off cos I know notting Mr Faulty
Good card today at Ponty with total prize money of nearly £200k. Such a shame the weather doesn’t seem to appeal
