    If I went on every phone recording of an event. I'd probably never attend a concert. Those two do seem pretty poor though.
    I once went to a local event. The band were being recorded for a look north tv plug. They played the same song umpteen times for those using the video and audio equipment. Whist brilliant watching em live. It was absolutely appalling on tv and did them no favours.

    They sound to me like there is something more amiss..

    I would say it’s one of these…

    1) Drugs or/and alcohol are involved.
    2) they are experiencing sound problems or deafness.
    3) they have an illness, or have strained their vocal chords.

    No singer of either of their calibre would be that bad after being singers most of their lives. The rehearsals would have shown up the issue.

    I think you can rule No 2 out mate, if you do a YouTube search of Jon Bon Jovi voice, there’s different folk talking about it from different concerts, it really wouldn’t surprise me if it turns out to be some kind of illness, I’m not a Bon Jovi fan but the decline is sad to see
